We Believe
Project STEM Cascades takes seriously the reality that Young People of Color are powerful change makers
Young people as educators support STEM learning grounded in youth culture and peer relations
As leaders, they are uniquely positioned to disrupt traditional and inequitable approaches to STEM teaching and learning by building from their own lived experiences as Students of Color
We’re just here to bear witness.
About Us
Our project is called STEM cascades because that is often the structure of organizations in which youth are teachers: slightly older people teaching, facilitating, or supervising slightly younger people with a goal of learning.
STEM Cascades highlights the work of the organizations that uplift Young People of Color’s humanity in STEM learning and teaching.
We are thankful to our partners for their trust and partnership: The Young People’s Project, Learn 2 Teach, Teach 2 Learn, and local schools.

STEM Cascades builds on prior research carried out in long-standing collaboration with community partners
